Wednesday 5 June, 2024 2-3pm
An Illustrated Talk by Curator Pippa Stephenson-Sit
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Argyle St, Glasgow G3 8AG
Free – meet at the reception in the main hall
For a number of months, Dalí’s iconic and much-treasured ‘Christ of Saint John of the Cross’ has been on display in Figueres, Spain. It returned for the first time since it was painted in 1951 to the distinctive area where Dalí conceived this important painting, and has been the centre of a new display at the Dalí Theatre-Museum. Research has been carried out by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, along with Glasgow Museums.
In this illustrated talk, Curator of European Art Pippa Stephenson-Sit will explain the exciting research and discoveries that have come about directly as a result of this loan.
